Who decides which papers to publish?

International Journal of Ayurveda and Pharmaceutical Chemistry does not utilize the services of eminent or senior scientist for its editorial board and its decision are independent, unbiased by scientific or national prejudices of particular individuals. However, quick decisions and publications is our motto. The judgment about paper publication and which papers will interest a broad readership is made by our editors and not by referees. We believe that referees see a fraction of the papers submitted and is deeply knowledgeable about one field, whereas the editors, who see all the submitted papers, have a broader perspective and a wider context.

How to submit a manuscript?

The manuscript must be prepared according to manuscript formatting guide to ensure that the level, length and format (particularly the layout of figures and tables and any Supplementary Information) conforms with the journals requirement and avoid delays in publication after acceptance. All submissions are made online.  Submissions should be always be accompanied with a cover letter stating briefly the type of research and why the conclusion is important scientifically.

After submission

The best papers are selected and reviewed for contents, depth of research work, type and importance of the submitted work. Once the decision has been made the selected papers are sent for peer-review to referees. The choice of referees is made by the editor who will then handle the manuscript in consultation with editors in related fields when necessary. Most papers are sent to two or three referees, but some are sent to more or, occasionally, just to one. Referees are chosen according to the following criteria:

  • The referee should be independent from the authors and their institutions.

  • Should have the ability to evaluate and analyze the technical aspects of the paper.

  • Must be available to assess the manuscript within the requested time.

Referees reports

Although, the editors of the journal judge whether a paper is likely to draw attention and viewership towards readers or not, referees often give additional advice and create an extra opinion. Referees reports often include

  • Judgment on technical failures in the manuscript.

  • Importance of the submitted manuscript.

  • Report any inaccuracy in language, abbreviations, references etc.

  • Create a second opinion.
